#9 Virtual Worlds

Problem solving, role playing, collaborative learning opportunities are some possible benefits gained through interaction/ participation in virtual worlds.   I will have to do some more thinking and exploring to find the role for virtual worlds in our curriculum.  The mention of "high speed internet access" raises the issue of equity of access.

  1. Hello Lee!! I am a Second Life player (although don't go in as much as I used to). If you ever want to test the waters you can always send me any queries or questions. I enjoy exploring and I also love the creativity and sense of play that abounds there. Of course it has its dark side but I never bother with that aspect of it. There is potential for tutorials, lectures, discussion groups, board meetings, think tanks in places like second life and in fact many players have quite rich learning experiencea. I once attended a reading of a new fantasy book by its author (who is a wizard!) I have a link to some sl pics on my blog. Hope you are enjoying the learning and have a great term 2. See you soon xx
